Sam Richards, co-founder of TOBE-Heartsafe (TOBE) and partner at independent TV Production company Storyvault Films invited the nurses from the TOBE team to train 24 of their team in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Led by TOBE nurses Clare Addison RGN and Lucia Amato RGN, the training gives the learner the skills, knowledge, understanding and confidence in CPR and the safe use of an AED, enabling them to provide effective emergency lifesaving first aid.
It’s an integral part of the TOBE-Heartsafe mission to provide CPR and AED training as well as Cardiac Screening. Its mission is to offer these life-saving services beyond just the few who can afford to pay for them, by building in a like-for-like plan to offer services free of charge to those in the local community.
Sam led the Storyvault Films production of SADS documentary My Sister’s Silent Killer aired on BBC in 2021 which follows the experience of the Meade family struggling to make sense of the death of their daughter Lauren.
