TOBE-Heartsafe calls on more organisations and schools to be safe as ‘Restart a Heart Day’ shines a light on the importance of basic life training

Not-for-profit organisation TOBE-Heartsafe www.tobe-heartsafe.org.uk uses ‘Restart a Heart day’ (16th October 2026) to shine a light on the importance of basic life supporting training for all ages, but it is also keen to promote cardiac screening particularly for young adults active in sports in order to detect any undiagnosed heart conditions.

  • Since TOBE Heartsafe ran its first cardiac screening programme in 2023 it has screened close to 400 students donating 135 free places
  • Since TOBE Heartsafe ran its basic life support training days in 2023,
we have trained over 1,300 pupils, nearly 300 adults, donating 250 free places
  • On-going partnership programmes in training with The Golden Thread Alliance Trust of Schools and cardiac screening with Forest School in London continue, and watch this space for further partnerships being announced

Thanks to TOBE’s fundraising efforts and great friends like philanthropist Heather Mills who recently hosted a gathering of friends to raise awareness and funds, it can offer free community places alongside its paid-for programmes in school and sports clubs.  This month the team will go back to Forest School to screen students aged 14 + and in November they are holding screening and training sessions for Wallingford Rowing Club, Oxford as part of its community programme thanks to the fundraising this year.
